In this time of extreme financial crisis, Congress has taken swift action to shore up our economy for all Americans, to create good-paying jobs, to strengthen regulation of Wall Street and the housing industry, and to mitigate record energy prices for millions of struggling American families this winter. In addition, I introduced legislation to protect the fragile Georges Bank area off the coast of our state and its vital role to New England's economy.
