Artistic Discovery

The Congressional Art Competition, now know as Artistic Discovery, was started in 1982 to provide an opportunity for members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents. Since then, over 650,000 high school students have been involved with the nationwide competition. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage artistic talent across the nation, as well as in the 9th Congressional District of California.

The Artistic Discovery Competition is open to all high school students in the Ninth District. The artwork of the over-all winner of our district competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol along with the artwork from other winners nation-wide. If you would like more information on the annual Congressional District Art Competition—including this year’s deadlines—please contact this year’s House of Representatives Co-Chairs at ArtComp08@mail.house.gov

For the forms required to submit your artwork, please visit the 2008 Competition Homepage.
