Providing national security is a fundamental duty of the federal government. The foundations of our security lie in a well equipped U.S. military and controlled, secure borders. Our nation is strengthened as well by maintaining good relationships with other nations, promoting fundamental human rights, and increasing international stability. As a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, addressing these complex challenges has been a top priority.
