MILLER TO TRAVEL TO IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN
|

ANDREWS AFB (August 06, 2007) - Congressman Jeff Miller (R-FL-01) departed Sunday on a bi-partisan Congressional delegation to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
The delegation expects to travel throughout Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq for the next several days. The representatives will meet with military leaders of U.S. and coalition forces, discussing issues such as the effectiveness of the Surge and the countermeasures used to defeat guerilla and terrorist tactics used by the resistance. The delegation will also meet with General David Petraeus, commander of Multi-National Force - Iraq.*
In addition to gaining insight from General Petraeus, Congressman Miller is particularly eager to speak to troops from Northwest Florida and from area bases.
“I want to personally hear from our active duty, guard, and reserve about the conditions in which they are serving and make sure they have the tools they need to do their jobs effectively.” Miller said. “I also want tell them thank you and that Northwest Florida and the entire country supports them and are grateful for their efforts.”
The following members of Congress will also be traveling to Iraq with Congressman Miller as part of this delegation:

*For security purposes, the delegation’s schedule will not be available until Monday.
