STATEMENT ON MOODY AFB HELICOPTER CRASH
U.S. Representative Sanford Bishop Monday (3/24) issued the following statement on the crash of a helicopter from Moody Air Force Base on a medical rescue mission in Afghanistan:
"I am deeply saddened to learn of the loss of the six people who were aboard the Pave Hawk helicopter from the 41st Rescue Squadron headquartered at Moody Air Force Base that crashed in Afghanistan Sunday (3/23), and I join with everyone from our area of Georgia in extending our thoughts and prayers to their families and friends. They died while serving on a mission of mercy. They risked their lives to alleviate suffering and help achieve peace and stability in a world torn apart by hatred and oppression. They will be remembered for their bravery and commitment to humanity, and we owe them our deepest gratitude."
