Congressman Eliot Engel meets with Bosnia President in his Riverdale Office

Congressman Eliot Engel (r) with Zeljko Komsic, the Croatian member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Tri-Presidency, after a meeting in the Rep. Engel’s Riverdale office Friday (10/24). The two discussed the situation in the former Yugoslav republic. Rep. Engel asked the president about the status of the Dayton Accords which ended the war in Bosnia in 1995. The 10-term congressman, who is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, visited Bosnia in June. At the meeting he spoke about the West’s current inattention to the area despite diplomatic warnings that a crisis is growing among the Serbs, Croats, and Bosnians.
