The USO relies solely on the generosity of the general public and provides a link between the American people and military personnel.

Welcome to The USO

The USO is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the troops by providing morale, welfare and recreation-type services to our men and women in uniform. The original intent of Congress — and enduring style of USO delivery — is to represent the American people by extending a touch of home to the military. The USO currently operates more than 130 centers worldwide, including ten mobile canteens located in the continental United States and overseas. Overseas centers are located in Germany, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Qatar, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Guam, and Kuwait. Service members and their families visit USO centers more than 5.3 million times each year. The USO is the way the American public supports the troops.

Welcome Friends and Family

We at the USO realize that military families are often faced with unique challenges. The burden of war can be especially hard on the military family; and, for that reason, the USO is dedicated to promoting the well-being of our armed forces and ensuring their families are given the support they need and deserve. Having trusted resources and up-to-date information readily available makes all the difference, especially in emergency situations. The USO is your trusted resource and the way the American public is able to support the troops.

Welcome Veterans

We thank and honor all who have given selflessly to serve our country in times of peace and war. Throughout history, as men and women have been sent to war, the USO has been there to provide them with a cup of coffee, a smile, a kind word, entertainment, an occasional dance or two and most of all a "touch of home" in a far-off place. The USO began providing service to military members during World War II and continues today for service members supporting Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom, and at other duty stations worldwide.
