Obama Statement Regarding Today's meeting concerning Cairo Hospital
WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) today released the following statement regarding today's meeting concerning Cairo Hospital:
"I am pleased to hear today that a number of City, State and Federal agencies devoted their time to address the issue at Cairo Hospital. It is clear that this issue has been a concern for residents in the area and they deserve a response that addresses the health, safety and welfare of their community. The first step in resolving this matter is getting everyone involved to the table. That's why I asked to convene this meeting today to begin a dialogue about moving this process forward. It is evident that this is going to take all levels of government working together and I am confident that every agency will make a commitment to make sure the problems of Cairo Hospital are addressed."
