Hands on Science: 10 years and still exploring
Closed for Renovation
The Museum, along with its Hands on Science Center, closed on September 5, 2006 for major architectural renovations and is scheduled to reopen by summer 2008.

History and Mission
The Hands On Science Center offers visitors a deep and practical understanding of the role science plays in American history and daily life. Here visitors can do science in an entertaining and relaxed setting. In 2004, over 110,000 people enjoyed the combination of facilitated laboratory activities and opportunities for independent exploration.
