This week, Americans across this great country are gathering with family,
friends, and loved ones to give thanks. Let us all remember how fortunate
we are to live in a land where we are free to express our own thoughts
and ideas, where we can use our talents and abilities to earn a better
life and a brighter future for ourselves and for our families, and where
all people are free to worship the religion of their choosing.
I ask all Arkansans to join me in remembering not only our forefathers
who formed this great nation, but also our men and women in uniform who
have been called to duty and are serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and in many
other countries across the globe. Our thoughts and prayers will be with
these brave Americans as they serve to protect our freedoms, and to fight
for the freedoms of others.
I hope you will not only give thanks for the blessing in your lives,
but also reach out to a neighbor or fellow citizen in need, for that is
the true spirit of giving. |
