Voting Record

Public responsibility and accountability are principles I have worked to uphold since I began serving in the House of Representatives in 1981. One of the ways that a member of Congress can be held publicly accountable is let the people he or she represents know how that member votes in Congress. Because I believe it is important for you to know how I have voted on all matters coming before Congress, I have published and mailed my complete voting record to 10th District citizens each year.

This report includes the votes I cast for the 1st Session of the 105th Congress. There were 640 roll call votes during the 1st Session. I missed only 11 votes for a voting attendance record of 98 percent. The 640 roll call votes included 126 procedural votes such as approving the Speaker's journal, quorum calls, and motions to adjourn which are not included in this report.
