WASHINGTON,
D.C. – U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) today cosponsored a Congressional
Resolution, H. Con. Res. 426, that expresses the House of Representatives’
“solidarity with the State and people of Israel at this time of crisis.”
The
Resolution calls on the Palestinian authorities to use all it resources
“to stop all violence, to show respect for all holy sites, and to settle
all grievances through negotiations.” Furthermore, the resolution commends
the United States for its efforts to foster peace and calls on all parties
to make all possible efforts to reinvigorate the peace process in order
to prevent further senseless loss of life by all sides.”
Schakowsky
said, “The last few days have demonstrated how devastating are the consequences
of a failure to arriving at a lasting peace agreement. I hope that
the violence will stop and that all sides will return to the table so that
a lasting peace with security can be achieved.” |
