(Prescott, AR) Fourth District Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.) Tuesday personally
visited the residences of two area veterans, both of whom his office is
working with to alleviate confusion over their veterans' benefits.
In light of Veterans Day, Ross personally thanked Lt. Col. James Holloway
of Hot Springs, a Vietnam War veteran who recently served in Operation
Iraq Freedom on in the Army's Dental Corps, and Sgt. Major Jim Boyd, a
retired military Senior NCOR and veteran of the Korean War.
Sitting at either their living room or at their kitchen table, Ross
listened to each of the men talk about their experiences and stories of
how they served our country in the U.S. Military.
"Both Col. Holloway and Sgt. Major Boyd have dedicated their lives
to protect our freedom, and I am so grateful for their service," said Ross.
"Each of these men have incredible stories to tell, and I was honored to
spend time with them, listening to their experiences, on Veterans Day."
Ross is working with Col. Holloway to alleviate confusion the Army
and the Veterans Administration has concerning his health benefits, and
is working to award a long-overdue Bronze Star for Sgt. Major Boyd.
"It is not uncommon for glitches and oversights to occur when veterans
are seeking their benefits. My staff and I are here to help the Fourth
District veterans with any problems they may encounter. I want to make
sure all of my constituents who have served our country, in the time of
peace and war, receive the benefits they are entitled to." |
