(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, along
with U.S. Representatives Marion Berry, Mike Ross and Vic Snyder today
announced that Arkansas will receive $245,000 in affordable housing grants
from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas for four projects that will create
64 new housing units for very low- to moderate-income families in the state.
Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grants are used for acquisition, down
payment and closing cost assistance, construction, and rehabilitation of
housing for income-qualified families and will go to the following housing
projects:
• Habitat for Humanity (Little Rock/North Little Rock): $80,000
to eight moderate-income first-time homebuyers provided through Pulaski
Bank and Trust, Little Rock.
• Independence County Affordable Housing (Batesville): $75,000
to 15 low- to moderate-income first-time homebuyers to purchase new homes
in in-fill locations provided through The Citizens Bank, Batesville.
• Street Revitalization Project (El Dorado): $5,000 to a first-time
low-income homebuyer as part of an ongoing street revitalization program
provided through Simmons First Bank of El Dorado, El Dorado.
• Whispering Knoll (Pine Bluff): $84,608 toward a 40-unit assisted
living complex for very low- to moderate-income seniors provided through
Pine Bluff National Bank, Pine Bluff.
