(Washington, D.C.) Fourth District
Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.) today announced that the Department of Agriculture
(USDA) Office of Rural Development has approved a water and waste disposal
loan of $205,000 and grant of $295,000 for the City of Gould.
“I am pleased to announce this funding to help improve the quality of the water supply for Gould area residents,” Ross said. “The Rural Development funds will be used to enhance the existing water system with a new well pump, eight now fire hydrants, and a new storage tank. These upgrades will ensure a reliable supply of clean water to this rural community.” The loan has been approved for 40 years at 4.50 percent interest. The City of Gould also received two USDA Rural Development grants in 2001 totaling $48,318. |
