(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, along
with Congressmen Marion Berry (D-1st), John Boozman (R-3rd), Mike Ross
(D-4th) and Vic Snyder (D-2nd), today announced multiple fire departments
have been awarded approximately $400,000 in grants from the Department
of homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management Agency Assistance to
Firefighters Grant Program.
This program provides support to fire departments by providing the tools
and resources necessary to ensure both the safety of department personnel
and the general public.
These grants are used for training, wellness and fitness, firefighting
equipment, personal protective equipment, and modifications to fire stations
and facilities.
• Rocky Point Volunteer Fire Department; Judsonia, AR - $23,616 for
operations and firefighter safety
• Jonesboro Fire Department; Jonesboro, AR - $156,100 for operations
and firefighter safety
• Bergman Volunteer Fire Fighters Association; Harrison, AR - $11,295
for operations and firefighter safety
• Pansy Volunteer Fire Department; Rison, AR - $48,600 for a firefighting
vehicle
• Pine Bluff Fire Department; Pine Bluff, AR - $144,251 for operations
and firefighter safety
• Upper White Oak Volunteer Fire Department; Chidester, AR - $16,200
for a firefighting vehicle
