Pryce Congratulates Honda
on 25 Years in Ohio
Congresswoman Deborah Pryce (R-15) today released the following
statement congratulating Honda of America on its 25th
anniversary of manufacturing in the state of Ohio:
‘Twenty-five years
ago, Honda’s American dream came true when the first motorcycle rolled
off the factory assembly line in Marysville, Ohio. Today, Honda is the
largest automaker in the Buckeye state and employs more than 16,000
Ohioans. The company’s investment in Ohio exceeds $6 billion, and state
and local tax revenues from Honda total approximately $1 billion.
Honda’s success in
the United States isn’t just about financial numbers. The company's
philosophy of respect for the individual is the cornerstone of its
success. Placing responsibility and accountability with each associate
has allowed Honda’s U.S. workforce to produce the highest quality
products at an affordable price and great reliability.
Honda is also a great
corporate neighbor. Honda’s involvement in the communities where its
facilities are located has been another key to its success because it
has treated state and local leaders as well as parts suppliers as equal
partners. The company also encourages employees to be actively involved
in their community. Since 1995, Honda associates have donated more than
250,000 hours for community service. Honda is a great example of a
company that has invested and reinvested significant financial and human
resources in its plants, equipment and associates here in the U.S.
I want to offer my
congratulations to Honda on this 25 year anniversary and look forward to
another 25 successful years of growth and investment in Ohio.’
