"When it comes to your time and you've heard you have to go to college, you have to branch out and you feel like you don't have the opportunities when you are here in Macomb. I think if something as great as that was brought to us and it was more accessible...it would change the way kids thought. They would think it is more attainable for me, something I can do. I don't have to leave home. I don't have to change my whole life style to do something great, to go to college. I can stay here. I think it would boost a lot of people's confidence and enthusiasm to get out and stay in college."

“Since moving [to Macomb] I decided to go back to school and get another degree in a completely different field of study, my Bachelor's Degree is in Gerontology, since I had no choice other than Macomb Community College, I attended and graduated with my Associates Degree in Accounting. I would like to move on in accounting and complete a bachelors or even a masters degree, but I struggle with the distance I would need to travel to do this. I have looked into MCC's university center program, but am not fond of my only option of Walsh College. Since I am a working mother it would be expensive and a strain to travel to a state college and complete my degree. So until we decide to move or Macomb Co gets it's act together I will not be able to make my dream come true. I support you in trying to get Macomb County into the 21st century and to realize that a factory job isn't what it used to be, College is almost the equivalent to a high school diploma 20 years ago.”
