File a Complaint
The Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division works to protect the public from unlawful business practices. Our office handles complaints on a variety of consumer issues, including automobile sales and repair, furniture sales, landlord-tenant relationships, new home sales and home improvements, debt collection and credit, marketing scams and many others. For a more complete list of the types of complaints we can address, please see our Consumer Tips and Consumer Alerts.
Although we often help
consumers resolve their complaints, we cannot represent individuals in their
private legal disputes. We encourage consumers to send us information about
suspect practices because this helps us identify frauds and scams and determine
our enforcement priorities. In cases where there is a pattern of illegal business
practices, the Consumer Protection Division may take legal action to enforce
the law on behalf of the public.
