Sara Lang Etheridge Provides Information on How to Assist Tsunami Relief Efforts WASHINGTON - As one of the first actions of the 109th
Congress, the House of Representatives recently passed a resolution
offering condolences to the families affected by the tsunami and earthquake
and affirming the United States' commitment to the recovery effort.
U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) has created a page on his website
at www.house.gov/etheridge/tsunami2.htm to
provide information on the latest developments on the disaster and ways
that North Carolinians can help with the recovery. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), an independent federal government agency, is the principal U.S. agency to extend assistance to countries recovering from disaster. USAID's web site contains an extensive list of relief agencies helping with the earthquake and tsunami disaster. Etheridge's website links to USAID as well as other sites for information and updates on the disaster. |
