Etheridge Honors Troops

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) voted Tuesday to honor members of the U.S. Armed Services serving at home and abroad. Etheridge voted in favor of H.Res. 698, which would establish a moment of silence to reflect upon the service and sacrifice of U.S. troops.

"Our troops both here at home and abroad are giving their all everyday to protect America," said Etheridge. "Words cannot express our gratitude to our troops. I encourage all North Carolinians to take a moment on March 26 to honor or brave men and women serving in the United States Armed Forces. May God continue to bless our troops and America."

March 26, 2006, is designated as "National Support the Troops Day." The resolution expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that all Americans should participate in a moment of silence to reflect upon the service and sacrifice of members of the U.S. Armed Forces both at home and abroad on that day.
