Etheridge Hosts Annual Congressional Farmers' Breakfast

RALEIGH - U.S. Reps. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington), David Price (D-Chapel Hill) and Brad Miller (D-Raleigh) will host this year's Congressional Farmers' Breakfast on Tuesday, March 8th at 8 a.m. The annual breakfast will be held in the Jim Graham Building at the N.C. State Fairgrounds. Etheridge, a member of the House Agriculture Committee, will update farmers and their families on important federal issues, and farmers will have an opportunity to discuss their concerns. U.S. Rep. Collin Peterson (D-Minnesota), the Ranking Member on the House Agriculture Committee, will be the guest speaker at the breakfast at the invitation of Etheridge.

"Our farm families and rural communities are the heart of our nation and our state," Etheridge said. "It is important that our farm families keep up-to-date on issues from the cuts and taxes imposed on farmers in the President's budget to the implementation of the tobacco buyout. I am pleased to have this opportunity to meet with our area's farmers, and I hope many will be able to attend the breakfast. I know our farm families will be interested to hear from the new Ranking Member on the Agriculture Committee, Collin Peterson, and his presence is a testament to the importance of North Carolina agriculture."

The breakfast is open to the public with a fee of $8 per person to cover breakfast. Those wishing to attend should send their $8 check payable to Farmers' Breakfast to Congressman Bob Etheridge, 225 Hillsborough Street, Suite 490, Raleigh, NC 27603. Reservations should be received by March 4th. For further information, please contact Congressman Etheridge's office at 1-888-262-6202.
