WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) today hailed the announcement that The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated plans to develop a bakery production facility in Rocky Mount. The company is purchasing about 15.82 acres to build the 100,000-square-foot building for production of cheesecakes and other bakery products for the company's restaurants and other foodservice wholesalers.
"This is great news for Rocky Mount and for Nash County!" Etheridge said. "These jobs will bring opportunity to our community and continue to grow our economy. The Cheesecake Factory is investing not only in North Carolina, but in our workers, our families and our communities. The hardworking folks of Nash County and the strength of our community helped make this opportunity a reality. The facility will be the company's second production site, and the only one on the east coast. The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated plans to complete the building by early 2006 and will spend approximately $15 million on the facility and an additional $1 million in pre-opening expenses.
