Etheridge Shares 'Washington Perspective' with Business Leaders

WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) welcomed business leaders from Kenly, Dunn, Fayetteville, Smithfield and Selma to Washington this week for his annual two-day seminar called "The Washington Perspective." This year, more than 250 business leaders from across the state joined Etheridge and other members of the North Carolina delegation for the annual event. Participants attended meetings and receptions with Etheridge and other North Carolina legislators and received briefings on federal issues.

"I am proud to host business leaders from around the 2nd Congressional District for this year's Washington Perspective," Etheridge said. "This seminar gives North Carolina's leaders insight into the inner-workings of the federal government and gives them access to an array of information and resources. As always, I am grateful for the opportunity to hear their ideas and unique perspectives."

Participants received a special briefing and Q&A session with members of the North Carolina delegation. They also heard from Senator John McCain, General John P. Jumper, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force; General Michael Hagee, Commandant of the Marine Corps; Former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole; House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi; Rep. Donald Manzullo of Illinois and Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina.
