T&I Democrats Select Ranking Members,

Subcommittee Assignments

WASHINGTON—Democratic Members of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure elected Ranking Members to the Committee’s six subcommittees and selected subcommittee seats for the 108^th Congress Tuesday night.

 

The following senior Members of the Committee were elected Ranking Democratic Members for the six Transportation and Infrastructure subcommittees:

 

            Highways and Transit:                                  William O. Lipinski, Illinois

 

            Aviation:                                                         Peter A. DeFazio, Oregon

 

            Water Resources and

            Environment:                                                  Jerry F. Costello, Illinois

 

            Railroads:                                                      Corrine Brown, Florida

 

            Economic Development, Public

            Buildings and Emergency

            Management:                                                Eleanor Holmes Norton, DC

 

            Coast Guard and Maritime

            Transportation:                                              Bob Filner, California

           

Rep. James L. Oberstar was elected Ranking Democratic Member on the full committee by the House Democratic caucus in January. 

 

The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will hold its organizational meeting for the 108^th Congress Wednesday morning (February 12) at 11:00 a.m. in room 2167 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
