During a recent visit to Stauder, Akin received a briefing on StrikeLink.
On 1 June 2006 Marine Corps Systems Command finalized its decision to field StrikeLink, a target acquisition and hand-off system that was developed for the Marine Corps by Stauder Technologies. The system is used by forward observers and forward air controllers in their execution of artillery and close air support missions respectfully.
"After six years of development and testing, I am pleased to see Stauder Technologies rewarded for their hard work," said Akin. "StrikeLink's ability to precisely determine operator and target location will provide our Marines more confidence when calling for fire and close air support."
