Washington, DC- Representative Todd Akin (R-MO), chairman of the House Small Business Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform and Oversight, will hold an informative hearing Wednesday, February 8 on the effect of proposals to shift responsibility to collect state sales and use taxes to out-of-state Internet vendors. The hearing is in 2360 Rayburn House Office Building at 10:00 AM.
The investigative hearing will address many issues surrounding implementation of the Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement, including current federal legislation and many new compliance burdens that could impact businesses if current legislative proposals were to be enacted.
