Akin Lauds $30 Million Investment in GM Wentzville Plant
WASHINGTON , DC - Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO) lauded today’s announcement that General Motors will invest $30 million in their Wentzville Plant. At today’s press conference Akin noted that the move signals a continued commitment by General Motors to its Wentzville operation, which is a testament to the long-term relationship between GM and the greater St. Louis community.
“This is tremendous news for Missouri, and a great vote of confidence by General Motor’s in Missouri’s business climate,” said Akin. “Not only does this investment speak highly of GM’s local workforce, but also of the sound fiscal policies being advanced by Governor Matt Blunt and the Republican leadership in Jefferson City.”
Last month, Akin wrote GM’s Detroit leadership offering to assist in any way he could to retain the Wentzville plan. The Congressman has also worked with GM’s Washington, D.C. office to advance the case for GM’s Wentzville facility.
