BACKGROUND: |
The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Export Achievement Certificate recognizes companies that are business clients of the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and that have successfully used the Department’s services to make their first export sale or open new foreign markets.
Jackson Products Inc. is a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of safety products serving a variety of niche applications within the international industrial, personal and highway safety markets. Jackson Products recently signed new distributors in Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Australia with the help of the St. Louis U.S. Export Assistance Center (USEAC). The USEAC has helped Jackson Products develop lists of potential distributors in international markets that the company uses to proactively search out new customers.
Last year, the U.S. Export Assistance Center in St. Louis helped dozens of local companies make new or increased export sales. The St. Louis U.S. Export Assistance Center is part of the global network of the U.S. Commercial Service, a U.S. Department of Commerce agency that helps small and medium-sized U.S. businesses sell their products and services globally. The agency's worldwide network includes 105 U.S. Export Assistance Centers throughout the United States and more than 150 international offices. In 2002, the U.S. Commercial Service helped U.S. businesses generate export sales worth more than $23 billion.
