STATEMENT ON TERRORIST ATTACKS IN LONDON
Washington, D.C. - Congressman W. Todd Akin made the following statement regarding the terrorist attacks in London:
"Today's terrorist attacks in London were atrocities of the worst kind. The brutal murder of innocent people is evil, and nothing can ever justify it. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families, and we pray for full recoveries for the injured.
"These al-Qaeda like terrorists are the enemies of freedom and human dignity. But they can be sure they will not shake our resolve in the Global War on Terrorism. Today's horrific attacks only strengthen our commitment to fighting the cruel and heartless extremism that uses slaughter as an instrument of a twisted ideology. Additionally, these attacks affirm President Bush’s policies regarding terrorist networks and those who harbor them.
"We stand with our staunch allies the British at this time, and are proud to remain with them in the vanguard of human liberty. Our adversaries will lose, and freedom will triumph. That is our unshakeable commitment."
