Service Academy Applications Now Being Accepted

Congressman Todd Akin is now accepting applications from individuals who are seeking an appointment to one of the U.S. service academies.

To be eligible for appointment applicants must be American citizens, at least 17 and not more than 23 years old, and legal residents of the Second Congressional District of Missouri. Nominations will be made to the U.S. Military, Naval, Air Force, and Merchant Marine Academies.

“The service academies offer a superb opportunity for those willing to meet the unique challenges and rigors of a military education. The quality of education available at these institutions is widely considered to be among the best available anywhere in the world,” said Congressman Todd Akin. “Generals Bradley and Pershing are both Missourians who started their distinguished careers at a service academy. I would encourage anyone to apply who believes he or she qualifies for an appointment to one of these schools.”

To request a packet, interested applicants should write to:

Congressman Todd Akin
Attention: Franz Kohler
301 Sovereign Court, Ste. 201
St. Louis, MO 63011

Deadline for applications, including college entrance exam scores (ACT and SAT), is 11 November 2005.
