Statement Regarding the Capture of Saddam Hussein
U.S. Rep. Todd Akin, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, today said that the capture of Saddam Hussein "is a major milestone in the democratization of Iraq. The capture of Saddam is a tremendous victory, one which guarantees that a brutal dictator responsible for decades of atrocities will never return to power.
Akin concluded, "The capture of Saddam Hussein is not only a great accomplishment for the U.S. military and the coalition, but it is above all a tremendous victory for the people of Iraq who long suffered under the brutal and inhumane regime of this insufferable dictator."
