Akin to Receive National Association of Manufacturers' Award at DaimlerChrysler's Fenton Plant
St. Louis, Mo- On Wednesday, August 27, the National Association of Manufactures will present Congressman Todd Akin (R-Mo), with its award for legislative excellence at Daimler Chrysler's North Fenton Assembly Plant. The "Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence" recognizes members of Congress who support a pro-growth, pro-manufacturing and pro-worker policy agenda.
"Manufacturing is a critical element of our nation's economic engine, and a strong manufacturing base is essential for a strong and growing economy," said Akin, chairman of the House of Representatives' Small Business Subcommittee on Workforce, Empowerment and Government Programs. "I appreciate this recognition by the National Manufactures Association and the opportunity to discuss the future of manufacturing with DaimlerChrysler and the National Association of Manufacturers."
