Assistant Energy Secretary David Garman Visits St. Louis to Discuss President’s Hydrogen Fuel Initiative
St. Louis- Today Assistant Secretary, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Department of Energy will visit the Center for Emerging Technology with Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO) to discuss President Bush’s Hydrogen Fuel Initiative.
Assistant Secretary Garman and Akin will meet with Congressman Akin’s Hydrogen Fuel Cell Advisory Council at the Center for Emerging Technology. Garman was nominated by President George Bush and is responsible for advancing President Bush’s Hydrogen Fuel initiative. Garman and Akin will then visit the Physics and Engineering Departments of Washington University.
“As a member of the House Science Committee and a supporter of the President’s Hydrogen Fuel Initiative, I wholeheartedly support research into alternative sources of fuel which will decrease our dependence on foreign oil,” said Akin. “Hydrogen fuel cell technology is a promising and exciting field of research, one in which the world class research facilities in the St. Louis region can play a pivotal role.”
