Todd Akin, Prostate Cancer Survivor to Speak at Local Prostate Cancer Support Group Meeting
(CLAYTON, MO) – On Monday, Aug. 26, 2002 United States Representative Todd Akin, prostate cancer survivor, will speak to fellow prostate cancer survivors at the monthly Prostate Connection Support, an informational support group at Second Baptist Church, located at 9030 Clayton Rd. at the corner of Clayton and McKnight Roads. The informational/support group incorporates the concept of faith and prayer in battling cancer. Rep. Akin will discuss his experience with prostate cancer with the group. The meeting begins at 7 p.m., with Akin being available for media inquiries prior to the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
This group encourages interaction and mutual support among men who had or are currently battling prostate cancer and desire more information about the disease. Families are encouraged to participate. Prostate Cancer Connection addresses both the need for information and the utilization of faith to understand and survive the disease. The Prostate Cancer Connection meets every fourth Monday.
