U.S. Department of Commerce Official to Present $500,000 Check at Hazelwood City Hall Today
Grant is to help develop strategic response to announced closure of Ford Plant
St. Louis, Mo.- Today, May 13 at 11:00 a.m., the Assistant Secretary for Economic Development, Dr. David Sampson will present a $500,000 check for a grant to develop a strategic response to the announced closure of the Ford Plant in Hazelwood. The check will be presented at the Hazelwood City Hall, 415 Elm Grove Lane.
Representatives of the Ford Task Force, St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association, Missouri Department of Economic Development, the St. Louis Economic Development Council and Hazelwood Mayor T.R. Carr will attend the check presentation. The grant is being awarded to the St. Louis Economic Development Council. After the presentation, Sampson will have a roundtable discussion with community leaders.
