Akin Representative to Testify at Army Corps Hearing on River Plan
St. Louis, Mo.- On Tuesday, November 13, Congressman Todd Akin will oppose the Army Corps’ proposed changes to the water control plan for the Missouri River.
Congressman Akin will have a representative read his testimony opposing proposed changes to the water control plan for the Missouri River at the Army Corps’ public hearing tonight.
“Given the adverse effects on navigation, the generation of power for the St. Louis region and increased flooding, I oppose the proposed changes to the current water control plan,” said Akin. “Any plan must balance a variety of interest including ecological, flood control and navigation; these proposals do not.”
