Akin to Honor West County EMS & Firefighter District
Ceremony will mark 40 years of public service
St. Louis, Mo.- On Saturday, October 13, Congressman Todd Akin will honor local firefighters at a ceremony marking 40 years of public service by members of the West County EMS & Fire Protection District. Akin visited the World Trade Center site on October 1st, and will recognize the essential role that firefighters and emergency medical professionals play in the community.
“Firefighters and other public safety officers were the first to respond to the terror attacks at the Pentagon and the World Trade Center”, said Akin. “Firefighters and emergency medical professionals are an essential element in our preparedness and homeland defense.”
When: Saturday, October 13, at 2:00 p.m. Central Time
