Service Academy Application Deadline Approaching
St. Louis, Mo.- Congressman Todd Akin will continue to accept applications through October 30 from individuals who are seeking an appointment to one of the U.S. Service Academies for the school year commencing in the summer of 2002.
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must be American citizens, at least 17 and not more than 23 years old on July 1, 2002, and legal residents of the Second Congressional District of Missouri. Appointments will be made to the U.S. Military, Naval, Air Force, and Merchant Marine Academies.

Only complete application packets-which must include college entrance exam scores, (ACT and SAT), will be considered.
“The service academies offer a superb opportunity for those willing to meet the unique challenges and rigors of a military education,” said Congressman Akin. “I would encourage anyone to apply who believes he or she qualifies for an appointment to one of these schools.”
