Congressman Akin to Speak at Science Center Opening
Akin is on House Science Committee

St. Louis, Mo.- Today, Congressman Todd Akin will participate in the opening ceremony at the newly renovated James S. McDonnell Planetarium. The ceremony will begin at 3:40 p.m.

“I appreciate having been asked to help celebrate the opening of the new planetarium,” said Akin. “As a member of the House Science Committee, I have had the opportunity to see the importance of science and technology in addressing some of our nation’s most critical issues.”

“As we head into the 21st Century, maintaining a competitive edge in science and technology will play a key role in our nation’s success,” stated Akin.

“The newly renovated planetarium will help stimulate the imagination of children who may themselves become leaders, scientists and educators in the 21st Century,” concluded Akin.
