Rep. Akin Offers Amendment to Education Bill
Washington- Today, Congressman Todd Akin will offer an amendment to H.R. 1.
The Akin amendment to H.R. 1 would require that “tests be of objective knowledge, based on widely accepted professional testing and assessment standards, and shall not assess the personal opinions, attitudes, or beliefs of the student being assessed.
“If we are committed to ‘leaving no child behind’ it is critical that a test measure objective knowledge rather than opinions or beliefs,” said Congressman Akin. “For America’s children to remain competitive we need to teach and test real world knowledge.”
