Plan to Open Ohio Trade Office in China
COLUMBUS (November 13, 2006) - Governor Bob Taft
today announced the State of Ohio will establish its 11th international
trade office in Shanghai, China, to increase export activities and identify
reverse investment opportunities. China is Ohio's seventh largest export
market.

today announced appointments to the Board of Building Appeals; Hearing
Aid Dealers and Fitters Licensing Board; Motor Vehicle Dealers Board;
Motor Vehicle Salvage Dealer's Licensing Board; The Board of Speech Language
Pathology and Audiology; Third Frontier Advisory Board; and the Ohio Venture
Capital Authority.

COLUMBUS (November 3, 2006) - Governor Bob Taft
today announced appointments to the Environmental Review Appeals Commission;
Ohio Fair Plan Underwriting Association Board of Governors; Task Force
on Implementing the Federal Domestic Violence Option; and the Solid Waste
Management Advisory Council.

Third Round of HB 115 Funds
COLUMBUS (October 31, 2006) - Governor Bob Taft
today announced that 20 Ohio institutions of higher education and education
service centers (ESC) will receive a total of $3.6 million to partner
with school districts around the state to provide math, science and foreign
language instruction to high school students that will result in dual
high school and college credit. The funding is a result of House Bill
115, which Taft signed into law in June. Building student learning in
high school math, science and foreign language is central to the Governor's
Ohio Core proposal, a more rigorous high school curriculum that will better
prepare Ohio students for work, college and life.

Kicks-Off Ohio's Make a Difference Day
COLUMBUS (October 28, 2006) - First Lady Hope
Taft today kicked-off the 16th annual Make A Difference Day by joining
volunteers at three Make a Difference Day Ohio (MDDO) projects in Harrison
County. For the seventh consecutive year, Ohio leads the nation in the
number of volunteer service projects planned for MDDO, with 283 Ohio projects
registered on the national web site.

Rolls-Royce Fuel Cell Systems to Ohio
NORTH CANTON (October
27, 2006) - Governor Bob Taft today announced that Ohio will be home to
Rolls-Royce Fuel Cell Systems' U.S. headquarters and technology center.
The announcement at Stark State College of Technology marks the second
major fuel cell industry investment in Ohio this week, following Wednesday's
news that UltraCell will invest $74 million in a research and development
center in Dayton.

Ohio Fund
Governor Taft recently announced the fourth round of Clean Ohio
Trails Fund grants
during a Clean Ohio Day tour of the state. The $400 million Clean
Ohio Fund Program, proposed by Taft and approved by voters in
2000, provides community-directed investments for revitalizing urban
areas, protecting rivers and watersheds, preserving green space
and farmland and expanding Ohio's system of recreational trails.
Ohio Partnership for Continued Learning
Governor Taft has launched the Ohio
Partnership for Continued Learning, an education initiative
to strengthen and integrate Ohio's learning system. The Partnership
was created to focus on Ohio's education pipeline from early education
through postsecondary to the workforce and aims to serve as a catalyst
for strengthening Ohio's capacity to prepare every student for success
in the 21st Century global economy.
Governor's Fitness Challenge
Governor Taft recently challenged Ohioans to become the number one state in the President's Fitness Challenge. The Governor's Challenge Webpage offers plenty of fun and incentives to help Ohioans reach their nutrition and fitness goals. The Governor's Healthy Ohioans initiative serves to encourage Ohioans to take a few steps each day to make big strides toward good health and wellness.

Cabinet is working to enhance Ohio's business environment
and encourage job growth in Ohio. The Jobs Cabinet has met
monthly since Taft called for its formation in his 2004 State
of the State Address.
