RED CROSS SEEKS HERO NOMINATIONS

The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter (formerly the Southeastern Fairfield County Chapter) of the American Red Cross
is looking for local “heroes” who have gone above and beyond the call to help others this year.

Recipients will be honored at the 7th Annual Heroes of Mid-Fairfield County Breakfast, which will be held on March 30, 2007 at the Trumbull Marriott. Health Net of the Northeast and JP Maguire Associates will be presenting co –sponsors.

Nominations will be accepted for anyone who has demonstrated compassion, courage, character or humanity toward others, according to Lyn McCarthy, Development Director.

The heroes will be chosen in a range of categories: Firefighter, Law Enforcement, Medical, 911 Dispatch, Good Samaritan Adult, Good Samaritan youth, Military, Animal Rescue (person who saved an animal or an animal who saved a person) and Community Impact (a person involved in a project or on-going effort that has an impact on the community).

The heroic event must be on-going or have occurred between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2006.
The nominee must work or live in the communities the chapter serves: Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Norwalk, Stratford, Trumbull, Weston, Westport, and Wilton.
