“The Republican Party is at war with itself.”

June 3 , 2004

The Interior Appropriation bill passed by the Subcommittee today demonstrates that the Republican Party is at war with itself. The Administration’s budget request pretends that proposed increases are affordable. But, the bill passed today eliminated nearly every major Administration initiative because the Appropriations Committee has to deal in reality. This bill is a public admission that the Administration’s budget cannot fulfill its promises.
