Washington, DC -- Congressman David Wu released the statement below in response to President Bush's State of the Union address:
"I was glad to hear the President talk about the importance of education and the economy; two of my passions in public service.
"Disappointingly though, I wish the President would walk the walk as well as talk the talk.
"After all his promises tonight, Congress will be voting tomorrow on the President's $12 billion cut in college financial aid.
"This $12 billion, taken from America's college students, is one of the two saddest events during my seven years in Congress."
