Washington, DC-- Today Congressman David Wu made the following statement, celebrating the awarding of the New Market Tax Credits to the Portland Development Commission and Portland Area Community Development Projects.
"Over the past two years,I have joined the Portland Development Commission and other local leaders in efforts to secure these important tax credits to boost investment in our community.
"I am pleased that both Senators Wyden and Smith, as well as Representatives Hooley and Blumenauer signed on to my letter to the Treasury Department in March urging favorable consideration of this application.
"Our community leaders are to be commended for their efforts. These credits will mean jobs and economic security for Oregon families at a time when we need it most."
