Tualatin,OR--Today Congressman David Wu welcomed home the members of the 671st Army Reserves Combat Engineers during a picnic celebration at the Tualatin Community Park.
"The brave men and woman of the 671st deserve both our respect and our gratitude. Since landing in Kuwait in February of 2003 until their recent return, the 671st Army Reserves Company has served in Iraq with courage and honor," said Congressman David Wu.
As mobile combat engineers the 671st were in the forefront of the advancing American forces. Initially attached to the 3rd Armored Division, then reassigned to the 1st Armored Division. The duties included helping pave roads, build bridges, move heavy equipment, and remove landmines for our ground forces.
"I am honored today to stand amongst these heroes."
