CONGRESSMAN WU SECURES $290,000IN TRANSPORATION FUNDING
FOR COLUMBIA AND CLATSOP COUNTIES
 
Transportation construction bill clears House Committee with earmarks for road improvement projects
 
Washington, DC  --  Congressman David Wu, today, announced that he has successfully secured Congressional authorization for transportation projects in Columbia and Clatsop Counties, totaling $290,000 in federal dollars.

Wu successfully included these projects in H.R. 3550, a bill which lays out the nation's highway and transportation priorities for the next six years. H.R. 3550 passed the House Transportation Committee today.

"These new construction projects will create jobs, improve the flow of commerce, increase public safety and improve our quality of life," said Congressman David Wu. "I am proud to have secured the necessary support for these crucial projects."

Below are the two transportation projects for which Congressman Wu secured funding:

$200,000 for the engineering and construction of a railroad crossing at the intersection of Highway 30 and Havlik Drive in Scappoose.

$90,000 to add a bike lane in both directions to Delauro Road in Warrenton connecting Fort Clatsop National Memorial and Fort Stevens State Park to bicycle travel.

H.R. 3550 will now be sent to the House floor for further consideration.
