Commission on Human Rights and the UN's Conference on Disarmament, respectively, has made a mockery of these once noble panels.  The UN's willingness to indulge these rogue nations not only hurts its credibility, it undermines its ability to serve as an international force for positive change.

Any global organization that favors these countries input on important matters such as human rights and nuclear disarmament should not be funded with American dollars.  I am a cosponsor of H.R. 800, which would withhold United States funding for any UN commission that is chaired by a country the State Department classifies as a terrorist nation.

We must see to it that the United States continues to play a leadership role on human rights and disarmament around the world.  The United Nations will not get very far alone, and it will certainly not get anywhere by continuing to ignore American values.
