Funding for our nation's transportation infrastructure is one of my top priorities.  There is no doubt that improvements are needed on our highways, bridges and roads to increase driving safety, ease congestion, and modernize our surface transportation system.  

One of the best ways to further stimulate the economy and create more job opportunities in Tennessee is to reauthorize the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century.  As the economy continues to strengthen, we need to do all we can to get people back to work while being good stewards of taxpayer dollars. 

I hope to support a final bill that meets East Tennessee’s transportation needs while holding down taxes.
